About

From a background in landscapes, I have become increasingly fascinated with social documentary, particularly in urban and rural settings.

I predominantly use painting and drawing techniques to capture all aspects of contemporary working life. I study scenes with a camera, and sketchbook, and complete works at my studio.

In recent months the Corona virus has impacted on our daily lives and I have been able to study environments where Covid 19 is having a direct effect. In my latest work, I have sought to emphasise the humane and compassionate nature of individuals in every day situations, whether shopping or saving a life in hospital.

I grew up in the southwest and studied art at York St Johns. Since becoming an artist full time I have exhibited widely and have artworks held in private collections all over the world. I am a Harrogate Mercer and Platform Open winner.
